Meet The Gym Station's Coaches

Miss Tip Tap - Area Director

The name is Jennifer but the kids call me Miss Tip Tap. I love to read and dance and have been dancing since the age of five. But before becoming Miss Tip Tap at The Gym Station, I was just Jenn, a Nanny for 6 years. I finally decided it was time to combine the two things I'm most passionate about – working to improve the lives of children and dance. I just love seeing the smiles I bring to the kids everyday. It's great to know we are instilling a passion for fitness and dance at such a young age.

Coach Skittles

My life up to this point has been a very successful and fun experience. I was born in Austin but shortly after moved to Richmond, TX. Growing up I was interested in any sport or fitness activity I could get my hands on from soccer, tennis, baseball, all the way up to racing dirt bikes and rollerblading. Once I was old enough to begin working, I took a job at a gymnastics gym as a coach. This allowed me to help children reach their goals. I was offered a scholarship to play football at the University of Texas at San Antonio but a car accident ended my football career. After that I studied Mechanical Engineering but always had a passion and love for athletics. A coach of mine always said "if you love your job you will never work a day in your life". And now as a coach and fitness instructor, I do not see myself "working" for the rest of my life...just doing what I love.

Coach Wolverine

Hi friends! My name is Santos Gonzalez, also known as Coach Wolverine, and my passion lies with kids. I have two degrees from The University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas but I have lived in the Houston area my whole life. Sports and exercise have been a part of my life since I was a child so it was easy to line my personal values with those of The Gym Station. Coaching kids as they stay active brings me great joy and I'm glad to be a part of The Gym Station team!

Miss Happy Feet

Hi! My name is Rashika, but your kids call me Miss Happy Feet. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC but I decided to move to Houston, TX in 2016. I began my passion for dance at the age of 2 so I have 25 years of experience under my belt. I received my B.S. Degree in Special Education from Winston-Salem State University and I am currently a graduate student at Houston Baptist University. I have been teaching dance for 6 years and I absolutely love it. It gives me so much joy to see the kids enjoy dance class while learning many different styles of the art. My favorite part about teaching children is the "ah-ha" moment you see when they grasp and execute the task that you taught them. The smiles are a great addition as well.

Coach Butterfly

Hi my name is Cortney, but your children know me as Coach Butterfly. I am a graduate of The University of Houston with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, with a minor in Health Education. I have been involved in sports since the age of 5, playing softball, basketball, and volleyball. Working with your child is a very rewarding and exciting experience which brings me enjoyment and satisfaction when I see your child learn and grow as they master the art of sports and fitness.

Coach Eskimo

Howdy, my name is Donnie Baggs but your children know me as Coach Eskimo. I have been playing sports since I was your kids’ age and it has taken me many places such as Texas A&M University, the National Football League and the Canadian Football League. I believe sports builds character and core values that will last your entire life. I hope to instill these traits in your children through sports and to help make them outstanding individuals.

Growing up I’ve always been involved with sports, baseball and football and I’ve seen how much of a positive impact they have brought to my life. My goal as a coach is to enlighten your children to be passionate about sports and to create a foundation of character.
Coach Rico (Daryl)

Hello! My name is Daryl but the kids call me Coach Rico! I played football, baseball, and soccer in high school but have been playing sports since I could walk. Playing sports has taught me a lot about discipline, respect, and responsibility. I love coaching kids because I help improve these skills to guide them to a brighter future. It's crazy how fast kids grow and it's a blessing to see them mature.
